thanks for the anniversary wishes, jen!
i met jeff for dinner at harvest in harvard square. it was really yummy. jeff had duck on top of various veggies surrounded by consomme. the duck was rare and he was thoroughly enjoying it. i had mushroom and chestnut agnolotti, which is really a fancy way to say ravioli. i do adore my stuffed pastas and i don't generally make them myself. these were really amazing, the flavor was very fall-like and there was something vaguely apple about it as well. the only downside is that there were slivered parnips on top. this probably the one vegetable that i don't like. in any case, i gave them another try and they are not that bad, really, when prepared nicely. we also shared a side of mashed potatoes that looked like we couldn't pass them up. and we were right, they were cheesy potatoey heaven.
after dinner, we walked to finale since we were already in harvard square. finale is a dessert place which i had always heard about but never went. we got a small decadent chocolate cake to go and made decaf coffee to go with it when we got home. the two of us could barely finish the one person serving, it was so rich! amazing, it was like soft, not-as-dense fudge.
